Rural Education Book Drive
@ St. Aloysius Catholic Primary School, Iloti-Itamapako
On the 18th of February 2020, EEF paid a visit to St Aloysius Primary School, Iloti-Itamapako, located in a village close to Ogun state. The visit was part of the foundation’s first official outreach tagged: “Rural Education Book Drive.” The pupils were excited as Mr. Ezeukoh Ebubechukwu, the foundation's founder, thrilled them with motivational stories and morale-boosting rhymes. He also encouraged the pupils to focus on their education to become valuable members of society in the future. Afterward, the pupils eagerly and happily declared their future dreams and aspirations.
After a brief meeting with the school staff on distributing school materials to the students, the students were organized into two queues. All the school students, including those absent, received these educational materials. To ensure proper usage, members of the foundation handed over items that could not go around, like textbooks, to the teachers. Some items donated to the school and pupils include dozens of pencils, colour pens, sharpeners and erasers, mathematical sets, several textbooks, over 2000 exercise books, and waste bins. It was an exciting and inspiring experience for the pupils and the EEF members present. However, fundraising was a big challenge initially, many thanks to donors who supported with cash and in kind. Nevertheless, the outreach was a big success.
Touch A Life
Beneficiaries: Widows and Private School Teachers
In a project labelled “Touch A Life,” Eziokwu Ebubechukwu Foundation, EEF, distributed palliative funds worth half a million Naira to widows and private school teachers across 12 states in Nigeria. The project's purpose was to help widows and private school teachers cushion the economic hardship they faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The foundation focused on this group of people because they were more affected by the pandemic.
The beneficiaries of the project were grateful for the generosity of the foundation. One of the widows who benefited from the project, Mrs. Virginia Ezeakabekwe, said the EEF support would go a long way in helping the widows provide food for their families. The Founder of EEF, Mr. Ezeukoh Ebubechukwu, urged the government to design economic policies that favour the poor and vulnerable ones in the country.
Book Drive Her Care
Beneficiaries: Secondary School Girls in Osun State
During an outreach titled “Book Drive Her Care,” on the 27th of November 2021, EEF distributed over 300 packs of sanitary pads to schoolgirls in Osun state. The Founder, Mr. Ezeukoh Ebubechukwu, distributed the sanitary pads alongside other educational materials to the students with some foundation members.
The project's purpose was to impact society and improve the girl child's education at the grass-roots level. The donation was necessary as some girls in rural areas cannot afford sanitary pads on their own and miss school throughout their menstruation periods.
In Osun State, the EEF distributed hygiene products to female secondary students in Alawo, Egbedi, and Iragberi Grammer Schools. The girls were happy for the foundation's thoughtfulness and generosity.
The Principal of Iragberi Grammer School, Mr. Ayodeji Olugbenga, expressed profound appreciation to the foundation for extending such kindness to their students.
In addition, Ebubechukwu used the occasion to call on the FG to support tax waivers on sanitary pads.
